Jose Manuel Raneda - Leading Volunteers in San Francisco Senior Center

As the program manager of the On Lok senior center in San Francisco, Jose Manuel Raneda directs 100 to 130 volunteers who offer a variety of social services. Under Jose Manuel Raneda’s guidance, the center operates a dining room, distributes food, and organizes fitness programs. He also partners with city agencies, such as the Municipal Transit Authority and the San Francisco City College. He came to On Lok in 2022 as a specialist in aging and disability resources.

Also in the city, Mr. Raneda has served the aging in other capacities, such as being the LGBTQ program coordinator for Curry Senior Center, where he facilitated men’s support groups and produced a weekly participant podcast. Earlier he was a client services manager for the St. Francis Living Room, where he planned activities, supervised staff and volunteers, and maintained inventory.

Mr. Raneda graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in computer science, minoring in mathematics. Later he earned an MBA in human resources and a law degree with honors from Marquette University. In his spare time he enjoys animals, history, painting, and traveling.
